We’re thrilled to be joining our colleagues from across the continuing education (CE) community at the Alliance for Continuing Education’s 50th Annual Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. We’re just as excited to invite you to attend Incorporating Peer Voice to Increase Engagement in Education and Adoption in Practice on Wednesday, February 18, at 2:00 PM in the Courtland Room, a presentation that examines how intentionally designed social learning strategies can enhance the impact of accredited education.
Presented by Ailene Cantelmi and co-presented by Jas Chahal, PhD, both from The France Foundation, and Lindsay Moore Murphy, DNP-ACNP, MPH, from Eli Lilly and Company, this presentation will feature a case study of an online curriculum that intentionally integrated peer voice alongside core educational content. Through facilitated Clinical Rounds and peer-informed discussions, the program created opportunities for clinicians to learn not only from faculty, but from one another. By pairing structured education with social reinforcement, the initiative aimed to increase engagement, address attitudinal barriers, and support adoption of best practices.
While evidence-based education remains foundational to improving clinical practice, engagement and adoption are often shaped by more than knowledge alone. Clinicians’ beliefs, attitudes, and the experiences of trusted peers play a critical role in whether new strategies are embraced in practice. This session will explore how incorporating peer perspectives into CE design can help bridge the gap between learning and action. By leveraging social learning principles, education can feel more relevant, relatable, and actionable, supporting clinicians as they translate knowledge into real-world care.
Identifying social learning principles at work isn’t always a straightforward process, but once you do, you’ll be able to influence clinician engagement and practice adoption. You’ll gain insight into how these design elements were implemented and how outcomes were measured to assess shifts in attitudes and behaviors. You’ll also learn strategies to measure and report changes in clinician attitudes alongside traditional outcomes.
Take this opportunity to explore practical ways to incorporate peer perspectives into CE design. Whether you’re a CE professional, instructional designer, outcomes specialist, or education leader seeking new approaches to strengthen engagement, this is the session for you. We’re proud to contribute to the Alliance’s 50th anniversary by sharing work that reflects the evolving role of continuing education in health care, and we hope to meet you there!
