TFF and AACE Awarded ACEhp 2021 Excellence in Education Design

OLD LYME, CT — JANUARY 6, 2021 — The France Foundation, a leading medical education company, in collaboration with the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE) announced that they have received the 2021 Excellence in Educational Design Award from the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (ACEhp) for their program, SCOPE: Successful Co-management between Primary Care and Endocrinology. The program was supported by independent educational grants from AstraZeneca, Lilly USA, LLC, Novo Nordisk Inc, and Pfizer-Merck Alliance.

“We are so proud of our team and AACE for their efforts in producing SCOPE and winning this prestigious award,” said Stacy Miller, president, The France Foundation. “We were successful in connecting the primary care team with a comprehensive curriculum of content.”

The program consisted of two, full-day regional meetings to provide the primary care providers with the necessary knowledge and skills to care for common endocrine disorders in the primary care setting, as well as co-manage conditions with endocrinology colleagues. The curricula covered content in major areas of endocrinology, defined as the BOLD-T curriculum (Bone, Obesity, Lipids, Diabetes, and Thyroid). The workshops were designed to engage learners in a highly active experience, and included Challenge Boards, Puzzles, Curveball Cards, an Endocrine Feud game, Action Plans, and a Rapid Recap. These activities revealed a deeper understanding of where continued gaps need to be addressed, and found that learners’ response to the game-based and interactive content was excellent.

The award for Excellence in Educational Design will be presented at ACEhp’s Virtual Alliance Annual Conference, which takes place from January 12-15, 2021 at acehp.org. The award recognizes initiatives that demonstrate excellence in integrating educational design principles into the design of interventions resulting in improvements in healthcare provider performance and inpatient or population health.
