Maureen P. McCarthy, MPH, RD, CSR, LD, is a Renal and Transplant Dietitian at the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. She is a board certified specialist in Renal Nutrition and a certified Nutrition Injury Specialist, Department of Veterans Affairs.

Maureen received her bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition and Foods and Community Service Education from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She received her Master of Public Health degree from the University of California at Berkeley, and completed her internship at the University of California Medical Center in San Francisco.

Maureen is a member of the Peer Network for Nutrition Diagnosis of the American Dietetic Association, and a committee member of the National Kidney Foundation Council on Renal Nutrition. She sits on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Renal Nutrition and is an active lecturer. Her work has been published in several journals, such as the American Journal of Kidney Disease, Nephrology Nursing Journal, and Renal Nutrition Forum.
