Linda McCann, RD, CSR, LD, has been a renal dietitian for over 30 years. She is currently Director of Clinical Systems and Nutrition for Satellite Healthcare in Mountain View, California. She is the clinical manager of computer system projects and is responsible for all nutrition services within the five divisions of Satellite Healthcare (Dialysis, Research, Capital, Laboratory Services, and WellBound) and is supervisor of 35 renal dietitians in 32 clinics.

Linda is the originator and editor of the popular CRN Pocket Guide to Nutrition Assessment of the CKD Patient. She has been an NKF and CRN volunteer, both at the local and national levels, for over 20 years.

Linda served as the only dietitian on the original NKF KDOQI Advisory Board, participating in review and direction of the first five KDOQI guidelines. Linda has recently been reappointed to the KDOQI Advisory Board and also the KDIGO Advisory Board. She was the only non-physician member of the KDOQI Bone and Mineral Metabolism workgroup and is currently serving on the KDIGO Global Bone and Mineral workgroup. She has actively participated in the development of many implementation tools for the KDOQI guidelines.

Linda has published numerous papers in a variety of professional journals and has written several book chapters on renal nutrition. Linda has spoken to and trained many professionals, patients, and lay persons around the world on different topics related to renal nutrition. She has been a strong advocate for quality patient care and for professional development.
