This activity has been planned in accordance with the need to provide nephrologists with education in secondary hyperparathyroidism.
Educational Activity Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the participants should be able to:
- Describe vascular calcification in CKD and how therapy can minimize its occurence
- Describe how the recognition of inflammation in cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic diseases has changed the management of CKD
- Describe how CKD treatment has affected cardiovascular disease in the CKD population and the special considerations needed to manage these patients

The target audience for this activity is registered dietitians.
